The XEDE Processor is an interceptor style Engine Management System. It generates changes in fueling and ignition timing by changing the factory ECU’s load and crank reference input signals to improve the factory tune, specifically to suit an aftermarket exhaust, engine modification or supercharger.

It has the additional functions of electronic boost control and optional dual maps to deliver individual tunes which can be changed at the flick of a switch while driving, e.g. High/Low boost or Power/Economy programs. Two stage intercooler water spray control or any on/off or PWM function including injector drive for an additional injector can be incorporated and controlled using the XEDE Processor.

How the XEDE Processor works
The XEDE Processor integrates with an existing (usually factory) Engine Management System. The operation of the XEDE is to modify the signals (Voltage or Frequency and Crankshaft Reference signals) before the main PCM/ECU sees the signals. By changing the values of these signals, the resultant outputs from the PCM will be changed. If, for example, we effectively reduce the voltage that the PCM sees on the MAP sensor wire at Full Load, the PCM will see a signal that equates to less load. Using this modified input signal, the PCM will open the injectors for less time as it expects the engine is under less load and therefore requires less fuel, thus leaning out the mixtures. Moving the crankshaft reference signal will move the ignition timing (timing advance).

Base map
Tune provided pre-loaded into the XEDE Processor to suit the vehicle type and aftermarket modifications as specified when ordering.  The base map is normally a great starting point for a dyno tuner to custom dyno tune the vehicle for optimal results.
Wiring diagram
Vehicle specific wiring diagram for the installation of the XEDE Processor.  This advises the ECU pins and wire colours for an automotive electrician to install the product in the vehicle.

Optional Extras
Dual map switch kit - $27.50

Contains SPST toggle switch, wiring and installation diagram to utilise a second map in the XEDE Processor.  This switch will allow driver to instantly change between two individual tunes setup in the XEDE Processor.  Installation time and 2nd base map extra.
XEDE By-pass plug - $66
Optional extra that allows temporary or permanent removal of the XEDE Processor to revert vehicle back to standard ECU operation.  This plugs into the wire-in harness in place of the XEDE Processor and is an efficient way of returning to the standard tune without paying for an auto electrician to de-wire the product from your vehicle.  Reconnecting to the XEDE Processor is as simple as unplugging the by-pass plug and plugging in the XEDE Processor to the wire-in harness in the vehicle.
Injector Drive Mod - $110
The XEDE is available with two high current outputs to allow it to drive up to 2 high impedance auxiliary injectors, common in aftermarket forced induction upgrades or other high current applications. This modification is installed internally with the XEDE Processor unit. Please specify if you require this feature at the time of purchase of your XEDE Processor.
